Benefits Update

We are excited to announce that our benefits and season ticket structure will be adjusted for this fiscal year (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020) and moving forward.

For benefit purposes, all priority and season ticket costs will be combined into a single season ticket price. This will help Wildcat Club members by simplifying season ticket billing, and for the first time, season ticket costs will be included in your priority point total and can raise your benefit level. Philanthropic giving has not changed and will continue to count towards annual benefit levels. Some benefit levels and their associated benefits have changed. See below for more information.

Tickets Thumb

TICKETS

  • All priority and season ticket costs will be combined into a single season ticket bill and count toward your annual benefits level.
  • This includes season ticket purchases to the following sports; Football, Men’s Basketball, Softball, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Gymnastics.

Levels Thumb

BENEFIT LEVELS

  • All donations and season ticket purchases will be combined, to calculate your annual benefit level.
  • Philanthropic giving has not changed and will continue to count towards your annual benefit level.
  • Some benefit levels and their associated benefits have changed, for more information see our new benefits chart below.

Championship Giving Team

CHAMPIONSHIP GIVING TEAM

  • By making a philanthropic gift of $5000 or more to Arizona Athletics annually, you are now included in our Championship Giving Team. The purpose of this group is to recognize donors who support us philanthropically each year and to provide additional stewardship opportunities.

Lifetime Giving Recognition

LIFETIME GIVING RECOGNITION

  • With a rich tradition and many generous donors, we want to continue to build our culture of philanthropy and recognize those who have given $500,000 or more to the department cumulatively. This will include increased recognition opportunities and additional stewardship for our members at these lifetime contribution levels.

What's changing?

  • The priority amount and season ticket price will now be combined and the total will count towards your Wildcat Club Membership.
  • The dollar threshold for the three benefit levels that are changing are as follows:
    • Silver: $8,500
      Previously $7,500
    • Golden: $12,500
      Previously $10,000
    • Platinum: $25,000
      Previously $20,000
  • Complimentary Men’s Basketball Parking passes will be adjusted from being provided at the Coaches Level ($1,000) to being provided at the Director Level ($2,500).
  • The Championship Giving Team will recognize donors who make a $5,000+ philanthropic gift to Arizona Athletics annually.
  • We are enhancing our lifetime support recognition for those who have given $500,000 or more to the department cumulatively.

Note: We will provide a one year grace period for downgraded accounts at the Silver, Golden or Platinum level as long as the same level of involvement is maintained. Additionally, accounts that previously qualified for basketball parking (Coaches Level $1,000-$2,499) will receive complimentary parking for an additional year.

Same Level of involvement consists of keeping the same season tickets and/or donations on your account that you had for 2018-19 season. If you drop seats or donations that would have qualified you for the benefit previously, the grace period will not be offered to you.

Why are we making these adjustments?

  • To simplify season ticket billing and benefit allocation structure for donors and season ticket holders
  • To reward donors and season ticket holders with a more comprehensive approach
  • To adjust to the 2017 tax code change connected to season ticket purchases
  • To better serve fans and donors and help Arizona Athletics continue to grow

Example:

In the past if you were an economy season ticket holder for Football and spent $200 a year, only $100 of that would count toward your annual benefit level and make you a member of the Wildcat Club. For Men’s Basketball, if you were a season ticket holder in the N Upper area paying $850 a year none of the total was counted as priority and would not qualify you as a Wildcat Club member. Both avenues economy Football season tickets and N Upper Men’s Basketball season tickets are supporting Arizona Athletics and our student-athletes, and we wanted our Wildcat Club membership to reflect that.

If you have season tickets to any Arizona Athletics team, the total cost of your season tickets will now be counted toward your annual benefit level. Approximately 60% of Wildcat Club members will see their 2019-2020 benefit level increase without making any additional contributions due to these changes.

There are accounts at the Silver, Golden or Platinum level as well as accounts receiving parking at the Coaches level that would need to increase their support to maintain the same benefit level.

Donations and season ticket purchases made between July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020, will be counted towards your 2020-2021 Benefits Level. This does not affect any benefits for the current benefit year.

We will provide a one year grace period for downgraded accounts at the Silver, Golden or Platinum level as long as the same level of involvement is maintained. Additionally, accounts that previously qualified for basketball parking (Coaches Level $1,000-$2,499) will receive complimentary parking for an additional year.

Same Level of involvement consists of keeping the same season tickets and/or donations on your account that you had for 2018-19 season. If you drop seats or donations that would have qualified you for the benefit previously the grace period will not be offered to you.

Yes, we will continue to offer payment plans. Payment plans will be offered from the start of renewals to May 1st for Football and Men’s Basketball.

Football renewals will take place each spring with a renewal deadline of May 1st.

Starting in 2020, Basketball season ticket renewals will take place in the spring with the same May 1st deadline as football.

All season ticketed sports will count toward annual benefit levels (Football, Men’s Basketball, Softball, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer, and Gymnastics)

For example:

  • Volleyball 2019
  • Women’s Soccer 2019
  • Women’s Basketball 2019-2020
  • Gymnastics 2020
  • Softball 2020
  • Baseball 2020
  • Football 2020
  • Men’s Basketball 2020-2021

The entire cost of a season ticket will now receive priority points. The point’s calculation for season tickets will be the same as what priority seating points were previously (1 pt. per $100).

How to calculate your Annual Benefit Level:

You can calculate your benefits level by adding the total cost of your season ticket purchases plus any other gifts (Scholarship Fund, Sport Specific Gifts, Capital Campaign, Legacy Lane and Endowments) that occur between July 1st and June 30th of each year.

For example: Wilbur Wildcat paid $1,740 for two Men’s Basketball season tickets in the D area. Of that total, $600 was priority and $1,140 was the ticket cost. He also had two softball season tickets in the reserved seating area that were $600 ($370 in priority and $230 in ticket cost). Additionally, he makes an annual gift of $900 each year to support the mascots.

2018-19 Benefit Level 2019-20 Benefit Level
Men’s Basketball Priority $600 Men’s Basketball Tickets $1,740
Softball Priority $370 Softball Season Tickets $600
Mascot Gift $900 Mascot Gift $900
Total $1,870 Total $3,240

In this scenario Wilbur was at the Coaches Level ($1,000-$2,499). For the 2019-2020 season, Wilbur will be at the Director Level ($2,500-$4,999).

In the past, the discount for Faculty, Staff, military, and seniors was 15% off the ticket cost. Moving forward the discount will change to 10% off the total season ticket price.

Here is what it might look like:

Previous Discount 2020 and Moving Forward
Football Seats (Regular Price) $675 (Priority = $500, Ticket Price = $175) $675
Discount % 15% off ticket price ($175) 10% off total ticket cost
% off tickets $26.25 $67.50
Calculation of Ticket Cost $500 + ($175- $26.25) $675 - $67.50
Discounted Total Ticket Cost $648.75 $607.50

For these seats, faculty, staff, military, and seniors would save an additional $41.25 with the new structure.

Note: Not all sports with season tickets offer a senior discount
